Information About RC Model Aircraft: The hobby of flying radio controlled model aircraft at Mile Hi R/C Club has been in existence for over 50 years. Mile Hi Radio Controlled Airplane Club is one of the oldest R/C clubs to be chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) in the State of Colorado. The club’s has 148 members ranging in age from 12 years to over 80 years old, including both male and female pilots demonstrating all levels of flying skills. Flying radio controlled model aircraft helps a pilot develop and improve such skills as construction, technical, mechanical, communication and hand eye coordination. The AMA supports and promotes the hobby through contests, demonstrations of flying skills, education, and adoption of school programs. The AMA provides liability insurance for both Chartered Clubs and for its Member R/C pilots.
