The 2008 Cerebral Palsy of Colorado Mother’s Tea was a rousing success. The event, was held the day before Mother’s Day at the Westin Tabor Center in downtown Denver and brought together over 300 people to celebrate Mothers and all of their selfless acts of kindness.
A champagne reception began the festivities, followed by an elegantly prepared lunch. Once guests completed their meal, Celebrity Host, Dr Stephanie Clements, introduced this year’s Guest Speaker, Ms. Debra Fine, a nationally recognized conversation expert and best selling author. Ms. Fine, frequently interacting with the audience, delivered an inspirational and instructional speech on “The Fine Art of Small Talk”. At its completion, guests erupted in applause as Ms. Fine was presented with an award for her participation.

As guests finished their dessert, they enjoyed a colorful and entertaining fashion show featuring clothing by GAP. The models, including CP employees and others who are a part of CP’s family support services, enjoyed the applause as they strutted the runway, showing off a number of exciting fashions.
The day concluded with the often emotional presentation of pamper packages, awarded to six very deserving Mothers. Each person was nominated by a friend or family member who wrote a description of why they felt the person was “most deserving” of the giveaway. Dr. Stephanie Clements read each of their heartfelt inspirational stories, then called the recipients to the stage to receive their package. On stage, recipients of the pamper packages shared their thanks with those in attendance, evoking not only applause, but more than a few tears as well.
